Role summary
This role is for an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to join the Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient team on Rydon Ward 1 at Wellsprings Hospital in Taunton. You will provide consistent clinical leadership, promote high standards of care, and deputise for the Ward Manager. The ward is a 15-bed acute inpatient unit for adults with mental health needs, working closely with a multidisciplinary team and supporting people in the Taunton area, including military members.
Key responsibilities
- Provide visible clinical leadership, promoting high standards of nursing care and recovery-focused practice.
- Coordinate, deliver and maintain safe, effective and person-centred care for all patients.
- Deputise for the Ward Manager and support day-to-day ward management.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to plan, review and deliver care.
- Support, supervise and develop Band 5 nurses and other junior staff.
- Act as a role model for professional practice in line with the NMC Code.
Essential criteria
- Relevant professional qualification and registration g. RMN
- Experience of carrying out supervision to junior staff
- Proven experience of working with a relevant client group in a multi-agency service, presenting complex and sensitive information to large groups of
- Must be a car driver with a valid driving licence or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance in order to travel throughout the Trust, to meet the needs of the service.

Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to join our Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient team on Rydon Ward 1 at the Wellsprings Hospital site in Taunton.
You will be a key member of the inpatient multidisciplinary team, working within a recoveryfocused service and playing a central role in promoting high standards of clinical care. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to teamwork and the ability to support and develop others.

Rydon Ward 1 is a 15 bed acute inpatient ward providing assessment and treatment primarily for adults of working age experiencing acute mental health needs. The ward works closely with specialist mental health doctors, nurses, therapists and the Home Treatment Team. The service mainly supports people living in the Taunton area and also accepts admissions for serving members of the military.
