Role summary
The Team Leader for the Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT) provides strategic, clinical, educational, and operational leadership to ensure safe, effective, high-quality, child and family-centred care. This role involves leading and managing the CCNT, optimizing resources, and maintaining high standards of patient care and professional practice. The post holder will support the implementation of national policy and local priorities, working collaboratively across primary, secondary, and tertiary care to deliver community-based services for children with complex health needs. They will also oversee complex discharge planning and provide expert clinical guidance and educational support to the nursing workforce.
Essential criteria
- RSCN/RN-Child with current registration
- ENB 998/997/mentorship module or equivalent
- Recognised Children's Community Qualification or equivalent experience
- Relevant Life Support certificate
- Advanced Life Support/ PiLS/ EPLS
- Clinical skills sick and injured child

- Independent Prescribing or commitment to work towards
- Advanced Communication Qualification
- Palliative and End of life qualification
- First Line Management Course
- Asthma Diploma
- Evidence of relevant Paediatric Nursing experience at senior level, working in a relevant clinical area

Job summary
Team Leader, Children's Community Nursing Team: Permanent (37.5 hours) The Team Leader for the Children's Community Nursing Team (CCNT) is responsible for providing strategic, clinical, educational and operational leadership to the service, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality, child and family-centred care. Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Children's Services senior leadership team, the post holder will support the implementation of national policy, local priorities and Trust objectives relating to children's community health services. They will ensure that all staff work within the professional standards, codes of conduct and scope of practice defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
