Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Provide visible, credible clinical and operational support across designated inpatient services.
- Oversee ward practice, staffing, incident management, and regulatory compliance.
- Support nursing teams and maintain robust communication and handovers.
- Monitor patient safety and uphold professional standards.
- Ensure effective coordination across services and safeguard the patient experience.
- Act as Duty Manager on Call whilst on shift and site.
Essential criteria
- You will hold a current NMC registration and a degree in Mental Health, Learning Disability or Adult Nursing or equivalent.
- You will be experienced in managing clinical staff at ward level on a shift-by-shift basis and must have held the position of Deputy Ward Manager (DWM) / Clinical Nurse Lead (CNL) or above for at least 6 months.

Salary: £43,927 - £46,500 plus £1,250 Essex Allowance plus enhancements DOE (rough expected earnings with enhancements will be £50k - £52k per year)
The role
You will provide visible, credible clinical and operational support to ensure patients receive safe, high quality, least restrictive care over our 24/7 clinical operations.
You will oversee ward practice, staffing, incident management, and regulatory compliance, while supporting nursing teams and maintaining robust communication and handovers over our 24/7 clinical operations.
You will monitor patient safety, uphold professional standards, and ensure effective coordination across services. In this role you will safeguard the patient experience and ensure operations align with St Andrews values, policies, and clinical governance requirements as well as being Duty Manager on Call whilst you are on shift and site.
