Role summary
This role is for a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner within NHS Gloucestershire Talking Therapies. You will work in a clinical service while undertaking a Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from the University of Exeter. The job involves learning CBT theory, conducting assessments, providing treatment in various formats, and managing your own caseload. Previous experience supporting people with mental health problems is essential.
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a subject enabling the post holder to demonstrate psychological mindedness e.g. psychology, social sciences or health OR evidence of ability to study successfully at undergraduate year 1 level / regulated qualifications Framework Level 5
Desirable criteria
- Training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy
- Received training (either formally or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
- Other
- Full driving licence with use of own transport for business purposes
- Fluent in languages other than English
- Significant evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
- Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
- Experience of working in primary care services
- Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrate clinical outcomes
- Personal skills, abilities and attributes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent telephone skills
- Computer literate
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people across situations
- Evidence of openness to learning new knowledge and skills

You will work in our clinical service, whilst undertaking a taught Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy delivered by the University of Exeter. The course will consist of part remote working and part in person attendance at a university venue (to be confirmed).
