Key responsibilities
- Take responsibility for managing a client caseload, prioritising as appropriate.
- Undertake holistic client-centred occupational therapy assessments using appropriate occupational therapy models of practice and assessment tools working as an autonomous practitioner.
- Plan occupational therapy interventions and rehabilitation programmes using a goal oriented approach.
- Monitor and evaluate progress and adapt therapy interventions as appropriate.
Essential criteria
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Health and Care Professions Council Registered Occupational Therapist
- Undergraduate or post graduate experience of working in a variety of healthcare settings.
- Experience of continuing professional development
- Knowledge of models of OT practice and practical application.
- Knowledge of the occupational therapy process and its application in clinical practice.
- Awareness of evidence based practice.
- Able to carry out culturally sensitive assessments using a range of appropriate assessment tools and models of practice.
- Able to formulate treatment goals/rehabilitation programmes for clients.
- Able to manage caseload and prioritise under pressure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills. Clear, concise reporting skills.
- Able to work within a MDT.
- Demonstrates an understanding of Trust Values
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working within a multicultural society.
