Role summary
This is a full-time, fixed-term Band 6 Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist position for 12 months at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The role involves providing clinical services to patients with colorectal conditions, supporting consultant and nurse-led clinics, and offering in-patient stoma and fistula care. The post holder will work within an established CNS team and independently in nurse-led clinics, requiring excellent communication skills. Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical services to patients with colorectal conditions.

- Work closely with an established multidisciplinary team, ward, and community staff to achieve seamless care.
- Work autonomously to provide assessment and treatment independently in nurse-led clinics.

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration and educated to degree level.
- Evidence of post registration CPD / post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to FHEQ Level 6
- Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC.
- Significant post registration experience, with evidence of passion/ enthusiasm and knowledge for the associated area of specialist practice
- Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality.
- Experience and enthusiasm for teaching/assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment.
- Demonstrate understanding / experience / willingness to be a practice-based supervisor / assessor as detailed in the NMC.

Are you a nurse with an interest in colorectal surgical nursing and looking for a new challenge? If you are, an exciting opportunity has become available within the Colorectal CNS team based at the Queen Elizabeth Hopsital, for a Band 6 Colorectal CNS. This is a full time fixed term/secondment position (37.5 hours) for 12 months. The post holder will work within an established CNS team to provide clinical services to patients with colorectal conditions supporting consultant and nurse led clinics, as well as providing in patient stoma and fistula care. Experience in colorectal and/or gastroenterology nursing would be beneficial, as would experience in multidisciplinary and cross agency working.
