Role summary
This role is for a kind and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join the nursing team at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. You will support patients pre and post-surgery, assisting with daily needs, mobility, and observations. The position requires maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate documentation, while adhering to professional standards and Trust policies. Completion of the Care Certificate is expected if not already held.

- Recognise own level of competence and limitations to ensure safe practice.
Essential criteria
- Ability to demonstrate/ articulate an understanding of the role and tasks involved and can describe the physical and emotional aspects of the role and some duties which are different to that of a Band 2 Clinical Support worker Can link the Trust values to the role and provide examples from personal experience which demonstrate understanding in relation to the role.
- Previous experience working in a patient facing clinical support worker role providing direct patient care in health or social care as part of a team. Understanding the principles of safeguarding in relation to this role Can demonstrate ability / experience in supporting patients holistically.
- Care Certificate/NVQ level 3 / equivalent in a healthcare related topic or equivalent breadth of experience Successful completion of Trust based numeracy & literacy test or provide evidence to confirm achievement of Maths / English qualifications at Level 2 or above Completion of a competency-based workbook Care Certificate
- working towards care certificate completion
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of PICS or equivalent electronic patient records
- Experience working in a hospital setting

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a kind compassionate individual to our health care assistant team.
The successful candidate will work alongside the nursing team to support patients both pre and post surgery meeting all their daily needs and assisting with mobilising on physiotherapy advice using mobility aides as required.
