Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Registered Practitioner to join the Clinical Education Simulation Team. The role involves devising and delivering simulation and practical skills training to clinical staff, students, and multiagency partners. The successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner, clinically competent, and committed to delivering high-quality teaching to ensure excellent patient care. They will also be supported to undertake quality improvement projects.
Essential criteria
- Post graduate certificate or intent to work towards
- Able to demonstrate on going professional development.
- Willingness to complete bespoke competencies and training to support role development.
Desirable criteria
- experience of teaching adults
- ALS (Advanced Life Support) accreditation
- Must have experience of working as a health care professional.
- Must be clinically competent and have underpinning knowledge of the following skills; vital sign assessment and interpretation, urinalysis
- proven ability to work effectively as part of a Team
- Familiarity with human patient simulators/ clinical skills training equipment
- Technical experience in audio/visual, PCs or similar equipment
- Demonstrate sound personal management skills - time management/ organisational/ problem solving
- Demonstrate a good standard of communication and written skills
- Good working knowledge in all Microsoft packages, use of Office 365 (Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
- Able to give feedback in a supportive and constructive way
- Experience of development of eLearning and other Technology enhanced learning methods
- Experience of training 1-1 or small groups
- Flexible
- Good interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Manages own professional development
- Other
- Able to work flexible start/finish times and to work at other locations as required by the service.
- Manual dexterity (e.g. to take blood) physically able to manually handle training equipment on a regular basis
- To work in clinical area in a supernumerary manner to maintain skills
- Must have access to independent transport
- Must be able to be a non-smoker whilst on duty
- Two satisfactory references
- Satisfactory Occupational Health clearance
- Satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust Clinical Education Simulation Team. An enthusiastic, motivated Band 6 Registered Practitioner to work in simulation required.
The successful candidate will have a comprehensive induction programme, being taught Human Factors Theory and debriefing skills. They will devise and deliver simulation and practical skills to clinical staff, students and multiagency partners in the skills lab, simulation rooms and occasionally via technology (Teams/Virtual Reality.)
The successful candidate will be an experienced registered practitioner who has supervised and assessed learners/junior staff in practice. They will be clinically competent, with relevant clinical knowledge of skills taught. Preferably having undertaken training including ILS/ALS. Ideally, they will have a teaching qualification/post graduate certificate or willingness to work towards this. To remain clinically relevant, they will undertake clinical supernumerary visits.
You must be committed to delivering teaching, ensuring staff develop skills needed to provide quality patient care adhering to Trust values. The post holder will be supported to undertake a quality improvement or similar
