Job summary

This role is a Band 7 Senior Practitioner for Children & Young People within the North Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT), focused on leading crisis care for young people presenting to NMGH A&E with mental health needs. It combines specialist clinical leadership, complex case management, direct assessment/intervention, and multi-agency pathway development.

Role overview

You would be the clinical lead for Children & Young People (CYP) within an established Mental Health Liaison Team. The role centres on improving outcomes for young people in crisis, strengthening pathways between A&E, inpatient wards, CAMHS, and wider CYP services across Greater Manchester.

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist CAMHS clinical leadership, supervision, support and consultation to the MDT in the MHLS team, in line with relevant clinical pathway, as outlined within the operational procedures and relevant service specification.

Be expected to take a lead on developing and maintaining robust holistic care pathways into wider Children and Young Peoples' services, from the general hospital.
