Role summary
This role is for a Healthcare Support Worker at Callington Road Hospital, providing compassionate and skilled care to adults in an inpatient mental health setting. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting service users with mental health problems to live fulfilling lives. Duties include delivering evidence-based interventions, carrying out observations, and promoting recovery. Essential criteria
- The Care Certificate (Cavendish Certificate of Fundamental Care) or equivalent
- Possession of, or the ability and willingness to work towards, an appropriate Level 3 vocational qualification (e.g. Level 3 Diploma in Mental Health or Health and Social Care)
- Possession of, or the ability and willingness to work towards, Level 2 Functional Skills (e.g. GCSE Mathematics and English Language Grade C/4 or above)
- Ability to work with a degree of autonomy, whilst also taking direction from senior colleagues.
- Ability to communicate in written and verbal English to a high standard, and basic numeracy skills.
- Experience within Mental Health
- Empathy for individuals who have experienced mental health problems and ability to cope with behaviour which may be challenging at time
