Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic Physiotherapist or Nurse to join the Liverpool Ventilation Service based at Aintree Hospital, to provide maternity leave cover at band 7 for 9 months.

Alongside existing ventilation practitioners, you will work in a senior role providing expert assessment and treatment for patients requiring ventilation. The role is based in the ambulatory ventilation team, providing highly specialised care in the outpatient setting, as well as inpatient in other hospitals, and in the community.

Duties include independent commencement, and support of patients on long-term non-invasive ventilation (NIV). Advanced secretion management skills would be advantageous, including assessment and use of mechanical cough augmentation.

Independent and collaborative working skills are both crucial to this exciting role.

  • Undertake assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
  • Clinically diagnose and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
