Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a high-quality specialist rheumatology service.
- Demonstrate enhanced professional accountability, autonomy, and clinical judgement.
- Undertake complex decision-making across a broad range of clinical situations and conditions.
- Manage clinical practice within the Rheumatology Service.
- Contribute significantly to service development, innovation, and the delivery of evidence-based care.
- Provide specialist advice, education, and emotional support to patients and carers regarding rheumatological conditions and treatment pathways.
Essential criteria
- Minimum 2 years at Band 6
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Minimum 1 years' NHS experience at Band 6 within Rheumatology
Desirable criteria
- Current Non Medical Prescriber
- Previous Band 7 Rheumatology CNS NHS experience

Job summary

They will be responsible for managing clinical practice within the Rheumatology Service and will contribute significantly to service development, innovation, and the delivery of evidence-based care.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Rheumatology Specialist Nurse will provide and receive complex, sensitive, and occasionally distressing information with compassion and professionalism. They will build effective relationships with patients, carers, multidisciplinary teams, and external organisations to support coordinated, patient-centred care.
Provide specialist advice, education, and emotional support to patients and carers regarding rheumatological conditions and treatment pathways.
