Role summary
This role is for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner within the Haringey MACCT, an integrated care model supporting adults with frailty or complex needs. The post involves collaborating with partner agencies, deputising for the Services Manager, and providing supervision and appraisals to staff. You will also build links between MACCT and Primary Care, contributing to the development of an Integrated Neighbourhood Team. The position is funded for one year.
Key responsibilities
- To collaborate with partner agencies in the development of the local delivery of services provided by the MACCT.
- To deputise for MACCT Services Manager as required.
- To provide formal practice and performance management supervision to MACCT/NLFT members.
- To undertake yearly staff appraisals and develop Individual Development Plans for MACCT/ NLFT Staff Members.
- To be the Lead mental health specialist within your MACCT neighbourhood.
- To maintain a role as care coordinator of a case load of clients whose range of needs require complex arrangements of care.
Essential criteria
- Relevant professional qualification in Nursing, Social Care or Therapy
- Currently registered appropriate professional body.
- Evidence of ongoing CPD in portfolio
- Minimum of four years post registration experience including mental health adults and older people
- Experience of working as part of a team and Experience in Complex Care Coordination
- Evidence of effective workforce development and of using systems to ensure effective staff management (supervision, appraisal and ongoing performance management)
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with team members of differing professional backgrounds
- To demonstrate an extensive and sound knowledge base in the provision of mental health services and preferred treatment methods
- Good knowledge of and ability to implement care pathways
- Compassionate leader - approachable, visible, and open to learn
- Ability to work within teams and manage own workload
- Can demonstrate clinical curiosity
- DBS clearance
- An understanding and ability to work collaboratively with the client group. A commitment to anti-discriminatory practices
Desirable criteria
- Further training within the specialist area of general Mental Health and for the Older Person
- Two or more years' experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
- Evidence of additional interest: adults living with multiple Long-Term Conditions (Including Mental Health)
- First aid training Ability to think and work flexibly to adapt to different approaches Car owner and driver

The MACCT is lead jointly by Whittington Health NHS and Haringey GP federation. It is a leading example of this integrated working and one of North London's earliest neighbourhood-based care models. Bringing together professionals from health, social care and the voluntary sector to support adults with frailty or complex needs, MACCT is widely recognised as the model on which the Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) can be built, demonstrating what truly joined-up, preventative and person-centred neighbourhood care can achieve.
Colleagues appointed to this role will join an ambitious and inclusive partnership shaping the future of integrated care in Haringey. You will work closely with clinicians, community partners and system leaders to support residents in a more connected, preventative and person-centred way. These posts are funded for one year (until 31/3/27) through neighbourhood test-bed funding, providing an opportunity to build on the MACC model and support the development of a model Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT).
