Role summary
This role is for a Peer Support Worker within the Early Intervention in Psychosis team, valuing lived experience to support recovery. Key responsibilities
- Use personal lived experience of psychosis to provide empathy and understanding to help others.
- Inspire hope and recovery in individuals accessing services.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to engage and deliver services.
- Contribute to the co-creation and delivery of educational courses and workshops with the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy.
- Undertake further training, including PSW training and the Care Certificate.
Essential criteria
- Relevant level 3 qualification in Health and Social care and/or relevant lived experience
- Health/safety and risk awareness
- Lived experience of psychosis and/or secondary mental health services, and be able to reflect on the personal experience of recovery
- Experience of working with individuals with multiple and complex needs
- Able to use knowledge, skills and experience to provide a programme of activity to engage and support people accessing services to participate in activity.

It is why we're embedding lived experience roles across our mental health and learning disability services, and we're looking for a Peer Support Worker (PSW) to join us at this exciting time within our Early Intervention in Psychosis team.
Please note: Lived experience means having experienced psychosis first hand and is not experience gained through professionally supporting someone. Please only apply if you have personally experienced psychosis and received support from an Early Intervention team.
In this role the appointed candidate will take on further training such as PSW training and Care Certificate. Completion of the 2-day introduction to PSW via the Recovery and wellbeing Academy is extremely advantageous prior to interview. The PSW employed will be supported by the Senior PSW to safely navigate and thrive in the role. The PSW will also work alongside teams to help engage and deliver services and promote recovery.
