Role summary
This role is for an ambitious Occupational Therapist to join the Intermediate Care team in Ryedale, Scarborough, and Whitby. You will deliver rehabilitation and reablement in partnership with North Yorkshire Council, helping people with complex needs regain independence and avoid hospital admissions. The position involves autonomous work, advanced clinical reasoning, and contributing to service improvement within a multidisciplinary team. You will also support colleagues and champion integrated working.
Essential criteria
- Current HCPC professional registration
- Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent, plus short specialist courses, experience to post-graduate equivalent diploma level
- Specialist understanding of relevant clinical practice, standards and protocols within identified clinical area
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working as a community based Occupational Therapist
- Member of specialist interest group/network, locally or regionally
- Leadership qualification/equivalent experience if required
- Knowledge and Experience
- Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at a specialist level of care
- Experience of case load management within specialist service area, some of which may be complex
- Working knowledge of Trust policies and procedures
- Skills, Competencies and Personal Qualities
- Effective inter-personal skills and experience in supervising and fieldwork education/mentorship
- Ability to effectively commute between the organisations various sites and patient homes
- Required to work within North Yorkshire Council while receiving supervision and support from HTFT.
- Ability to manage daily operations and maintain a safe working environment
