Role summary
This role involves leading quality management in nursing practice within a multi-speciality, nurse-led ambulatory day care service. The post holder will provide strong professional, clinical, and managerial leadership to ensure high standards of nursing care and effective resource management. They will offer specialist knowledge and support to patients, carers, and the service. Working with a multidisciplinary team, the role helps shape the service and supports advanced nursing practice development.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users.
- Be responsible for all aspects of patient care including assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation.
- Work weekdays with occasional weekends and monitor quality of service.
- Take overall responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of Quality & Safety boards and daily monitoring of staffing levels.
- Monitor and ensure a positive focused service incorporating patients' feedback to improve patient care.
- Be responsible for the supervision and development of all staff.
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust commitments
- First level registration
- First level degree
- Evidence of post-registration qualification relevant to specialty
- Mentorship qualification
- Substantial post-registration experience in area of specialty
- Respiratory care clinical knowledge and experience
- Evidence of teaching junior members of staff and assessing students in practice
- Proven evidence of improving the patient experience
- Proven experience of monitoring and acting on nursing quality data and developing appropriate action plans
- Expert specialist skills for the post

Job summary
The post holder will be accountable for leading on all aspects of quality management related to nursing practice within the multi-speciality, predominately nurse-led ambulatory day care service.
They will provide a visible presence with strong professional, clinical, and managerial leadership to develop nursing at a strategic and operational level within the service, ensuring that nursing care is delivered to a high standard and that the nursing resource is managed effectively. The post holder will provide specialist knowledge, support, and advice on ambulatory day care to patients, carers, and across the service as a whole.
Working closely with the Matron, Clinical Leads, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Operational and Service Managers and wider team, the post holder will help drive and shape the service as it evolves to meet the demands of commissioners and the local community, whilst supporting continued development of advanced nursing practice within the service.
