Role summary
This role involves providing advanced clinical assessment, evidence-based advice, and education to individuals with bladder and bowel problems. Independent travel around Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is essential for this position.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical assessment, evidence-based advice, and education to individuals with bladder and bowel problems.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate specialist packages of care for individuals with bladder and bowel problems.
- Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to prevent admission, support early discharge, and provide ongoing or shared care for patients with continence problems.
- Provide advice and education to the general public and other healthcare professionals.
- Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner with access to advice and support from senior colleagues.
- Participate in evidence-based audit and research projects.
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Level of experience of tissue viability/Continence within the present job
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent verbal skills with awareness of the need for confidentiality at all times
- Ability to use tact, diplomacy, persuasion in implementing change
- Good record keeping skills
- Can demonstrate leadership skills and initiative
- Ability to deal with those with life limiting conditions
- Motivated to work collaboratively and enthusiastically as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to remain calm and work effectively in pressure situations
- Ability to travel independently around Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area meeting required timescales. A Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
Desirable criteria
- Willing to undertake BSc Nursing
- Wiling to undertake Continence Modules
- Experience of participating to audit
- Development of clinical guidelines
- Standard keyboard skills and competent with various IT packages, Word, Outlook, Excel
