Role summary
This role is for a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) within the Dorset Steps 2 Wellbeing Service, an NHS Talking Therapies service. You will provide high volume low intensity interventions, including CBT-based self-management, to people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. The position involves conducting patient interviews, risk assessments, and providing support via phone, online, or face-to-face. You will also liaise with other agencies and signpost patients to relevant services.

- Ability to be self reflective whilst working with service users in own personal and professional development and in supervision
- Will have an excellent telephone manner
- Skills / Experience / Knowledge base
- Experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
- Demonstrates high standards in written communication.
- Able to write clear reports and letters
- Able to evaluate and put in place the effect of training.
- Computer literate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including telephone skills
- Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Demonstrates and understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care
- Educational Requirements / Qualifications
- Qualification from PWP Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate )

Dorset Steps 2 Wellbeing is a dynamic, and progressive service with a friendly and supportive team. You will work within NHS Talking Therapies, providing psychological interventions to people with mild to moderate common mental health problems, including depression and a a variety of anxiety disorders.
As a psychological wellbeing practitioner, you will provide treatment to help support people by:
Conducting patient interviews
Carry out risk assessments
Provide phone, online, or face-to-face support
Liaise with other agencies, and signpost patients to services, such as housing and employment.
You must have either a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT with IAPT PWP status or an MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical) qualification to apply for this post.
