This is a Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapist position at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. Essential criteria
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- State Registration with the Health Professions Council.

- Approved courses, conferences or study days which support Occupational Therapy knowledge and/or practice within rotational or static speciality area
- Professional knowledge acquired through relevant science-based degree
- Specialist knowledge across a range of Occupational Therapy procedures underpinned by theory
- Awareness of audit and its role in clinical practice
- Awareness of policies and procedures and guidelines
- Awareness of Occupational Therapy equipment / interventions and clinical reason(s) for use.
- Basic understanding of NHS structures and systems

Job summary
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join their well-established Band 5 rotational scheme. The post holder will have the opportunity to develop their career in an innovative multi-professional therapy service gaining experience in the specialist areas of: Surgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Neuro-Rehabilitation, Specialist and Complex Medicine, Intermediate Care, Community Rehabilitation and Stroke.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and prioritisation skills and be able to demonstrate an adaptable approach to support a 7 day service.
Regular formalised supervision is provided by experienced therapists who will support and encourage the development of clinical skills.There is regular in-service training, preceptorship and Band 5 support.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across Stockport and to GP's across Manchester, Tameside, East Cheshire and Derbyshire and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes in order to provide time critical medications and time critical visits. Where possible, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act.
