Role summary
This role is for a highly motivated Nursing Support Worker to join the Endoscopy team at Glangwili General Hospital. The unit provides diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services for both inpatients and outpatients, operating five days a week. The successful candidate will assist in various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Gastroenterology, Respiratory, and Urology, and perform administrative duties to ensure smooth operations. The team fosters a friendly, supportive environment with a strong focus on teamwork and patient care.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject Or Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses.
- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.

- Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice.
- Experience of working within the NHS.
- Language Skills
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)

Job summary
Our Endoscopy Unit based at Glangwili General Hospital is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic, forward thinking Nursing Support Worker to join our Endoscopy team.
The post is full time 37.5 hours per week.
The Endoscopy unit has a friendly supportive environment, which is strongly focused on teamwork and patient care. It provides diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy services for both inpatients and outpatients. We are currently running 5 days a week. It has two procedure rooms and has JAG accreditation.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for assisting in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Gastroenterology, Respiratory and Urology along with administration duties to ensure the smooth running of the lists.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
