Role summary
This is a part-time permanent position for a qualified nurse to join a Health Visiting team. The role involves delivering evidence-based interventions as per the Healthy Child Programme 0-5 years, working both independently and under supervision. The successful applicant will receive a learning and development package to prepare them for future Health Visiting SCPHN training. The team is part of Stockport Family, an integrated service supporting children and families.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver evidence based interventions as per the Healthy Child Programme 0-5 years.
- Work on own initiative at times.
- Work under direct supervision of a Health Visitor or Caseload holder.
- Work as part of Stockport Family, an integrated Service supporting and improving outcomes for children and families.
- Collaborate with all partners around the child and their family within Family Hub neighbourhood Teams.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Degree in relevant subject
- English and maths GCSE or equivalent
- Knowledge of Nursing and evidence based practice
- Knowledge of Healthy Child Programme
- Knowledge of Child Development, Health and Well-Being in the Early Years
- Awareness of health inequalities and impact on individuals and communities.
- Knowledge of Child Protection Procedures
- Implementation of evidence based practice
- Team working
- Ability to work independently
- Communication skills at appropriate level
- Negotiation skills
- Reflective Practitioner
Desirable criteria
- Paediatric or mental health nurse qualification
- Awareness of parental mental and potential impact on infants and children
