Role summary

This role is for a dynamic Team Manager to lead multi-disciplinary teams delivering evidence-based treatment for young people with Eating Disorders. You will provide operational management and clinical leadership, ensuring high standards of care through robust governance and continuous service improvement. The position involves implementing the NHS Long Term Plan, NICE Quality Standards, and supporting staff development. It is a 12-month fixed-term or secondment opportunity, primarily Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide operational management and support clinical leadership.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and problem-solving across clinical pathways.
  • Ensure clinical interventions align with NICE guidelines and specialist standards.
  • Direct management of Band 6-7 staff, including deployment, monitoring, and performance.
  • Motivate, train, and develop staff through Personal Development Plans and Individual Performance Reviews.
  • Ensure day-to-day practice reflects the highest standards of governance, clinical effectiveness, safety, and patient experience.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse/occupational Therapist/Clinical Psychologist/Social work qualification.
  • NMC or HCPC registered.
  • Experience in leadership role
  • Evidence of experience in service evaluation and improvements.
  • Evidence of Interdisciplinary/multi-agency working experience
  • Experience of developing user and carer involvement strategies in the recovery process
  • Experience & Evidence of recruiting and managing and training staff
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage change and deal with conflict / stressful situations.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
  • Basic IT
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to adhere to the NHS Plan
  • Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of care management and the care programme approach.
  • Knowledge and understanding of requirements of the National Service Framework
  • Knowledge and understanding of key issues in clinical practice in mental health.
  • Good knowledge of the policies and guidelines pertinent to the planning and delivery of care to adults with mental health needs.
  • Awareness of the impact of the health economies on service planning and delivery
  • Ability to work flexibly.
