Role summary
This role is for a proactive Pharmacy Assistant to work in the Integrated Health Community for the Central area of BCUHB. You will support Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians in the acute hospital, managing medication supplies and improving patient outcomes. The position involves working in the Pharmacy Dispensary at Glan Clwyd and participating in ward-based medicines management. Essential criteria
- GCSE maths and English language to Grade C or equivalent NVQ Level 2 (relevant units) in Pharmacy Service Skills/Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent or gain in agreed timeframe
- Skills , knowledge and experience equivalent to level 3 NVQ or gain in agreed timeframe
- Good numeracy and literacy skills including; calculations, percentages, decimal, fractions.
- Basic knowledge of the functions of the NHS.
Desirable criteria
- Current knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice.
- Good knowledge of drug stock management or stock control
- Working experience in Pharmacy and Dispensing
- Working experience in Hospital Pharmacy.
- Working experience in Hospital ward.

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate with patients
- Basic IT skills (e.g. accurate data input).

- The ability to speak or learn Welsh to a satisfactory level

We are looking to recruit a forward thinking, Pharmacy Assistant, based in the Integrated Health Community (IHC) for the Central area of BCUHB. This role will involve working within the Pharmacy Dispensary at Glan Clwyd, supporting a team of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians within the acute hospital, to manage medication supplies, and improve patient outcomes. We are committed to developing the service Pharmacy provides and welcome applications from individuals who are keen to work towards the qualifications and requirements outlined in the band 3 job description.
You will need to be motivated, and passionate about patient care, be able to move between bases and have excellent communication skills to work with healthcare teams across the locality.
