Role summary
This is an internal-only opportunity for a Band 3 Clinical Support Worker on the Eden Unit at Penrith Hospital. The role involves providing high-quality, patient-centred care, supporting patients with complex needs, and promoting independence. You will work closely with health and social care colleagues to facilitate hospital discharge and manage long-term conditions. This position offers a chance to develop clinical skills and expertise in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 vocational qualification or short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties or equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3
- Theoretical Knowledge
- Experience of a range of care and related procedures
- Clinical observations
- Knowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation
- National care certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2
Desirable criteria
- Undertake relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers
- Knowledge & Experience
- Experience of working in health and social care
- Experience of undertaking and recording clinical observations and escalating changes or findings
- Working knowledge of legislation underpinning care provision
- Understanding of the importance of robust, accurate, clear, timely documentation

Clinical Support worker - 24 hours available
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit motivated and enthusiastic Band 3 Clinical Support workers to work on the Eden Unit at Penrith Hospital.
The Eden Unit aims to address the challenges of an aging population and increasing demand on health and care services by providing more patient centred hospital care and empowering people to take control of their health and wellbeing. This will require new ways of working to focus on preventing ill health and ensure services are sustainable for the future.
This role requires you to demonstrate the skills and knowledge to support the provision of high quality care, to support patients with complex needs within the community ward setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their clinical skills and expertise in caring for patients, working closely with health and social care colleagues to promote independence, facilitate hospital discharge which can be complex and promote independence through reablement and management of long-term conditions.
