Role summary

This part-time role supports the specialist autonomic tests, focusing on the 24-hour blood pressure and heart rate monitoring service. The successful candidate will assist clinical autonomic practitioners and scientists in diagnostic services, including data management and analysis. Full training will be provided, and experience in healthcare or customer services is beneficial. The role also involves various support tasks like cleaning, processing blood samples, and stock control.

Essential criteria

Job summary

This part-time associate autonomic scientist/practitioner (ACAS) role exists to support the full range of specialist autonomic tests with specific responsibility for the autonomic 24-hour blood pressure and heart rate monitoring service.

The ACAS team run the specialist autonomic blood pressure and heart rate monitor service and support the other specialist autonomic tests, with additional responsibility for procurement, stock control, mandatory cleaning and preparation for autonomic tests. Full training will be provided.

You will have experience in a healthcare or customer services setting, working with people in a paid or voluntary role. You may or may not have formal education in healthcare. Knowledge of autonomic disorders is not essential: full training will be provided. You will have attention to detail, good written and spoken English, a pleasant manner and good time management skills. Experienced HCAs seeking a challenge but wanting to remain active in patient care are welcome to apply.
