Role summary
This role is for a Mammography Team Lead Radiographer at University Hospital of North Durham, covering both Mammography and X-ray services. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong imaging and leadership qualities, supporting the Lead Radiographer and ensuring smooth delivery of patient care. Responsibilities include promoting professional development, maintaining radiographic standards, and participating in out-of-hours services. The post holder will be an integral part of the Radiology team, contributing to continuous improvement of department services.

- HCPC Registration
- Special Requirements
- Able to travel across Trust sites to meet the requirements of the post
- High level of competence and knowledge in Mammography and X-Ray imaging.
- Good knowledge of Clinical Governance
- Good knowledge of QA programmes

- Audit and benchmarking experience
- RPS experience
- BSc/MSc/DCR Radiography
- Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography
- Commitment to CPD
- Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS)Training
- Special Skills & Knowledge
- Ability to act as a lead, negotiate and positively influence team relations
- Competently and Safely use highly complex diagnostic mammography and radiography equipment
- Enthusiasm and commitment to areas of work and the department

Job summary
County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust are one of

Radiology is a busy department providing Xray, CT, MRI,
Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound services for the Emergency department, In-patients
and Out-patients. We provide 24/7 diagnostic services to the hospital using
high-quality up-to-date equipment.
This role includes covering both
the Mammography and X-ray services at University Hospital of North Durham,
delivering care to our local population, with participation in out of hours
working. You will work closely with the Lead Radiographer to help maintain,
support and aim to continually improve our department and services.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will show excellent imaging and leadership
qualities required to support and work collaboratively within the Mammography
and X-Ray service.
The post holder will be an integral part of the Radiology
team, working closely with colleagues to ensure smooth delivery of care for the
patients, whilst maintaining Radiographic standards and promoting good practice
to Radiographers & Radiology students.
