Role summary
This role involves assisting in providing confidential sexual and contraceptive healthcare and education to clients. Under the direction of a registered nurse, the post holder will perform delegated clinical duties and contribute to high standards of care delivery. The role requires working with a multidisciplinary team and acting as a role model, demonstrating the Trust's THRIVE values.
Essential criteria
- Care certificate completion
- L3 Health and Social Care Qualification or equivalent experience (minimum 12 months)
Desirable criteria
- Completion of Healthcare assistant Development programme o
- Level 2 maths and English
- Experience and skills
- Meet required clinical competences for area of service delivery and experience of delivering delegated clinical duties under supervision of NA/RN (as outlined in section 2, paragraph 3 of the JD)
- Basic digital skills
- Experience of working in multi-professional teams
- Evidence of proficiency for clinical skills expected for Band 2 Healthcare Assistants o
- Experience of working under pressure and dealing with competing demands
- Experience of communicating with people from different backgrounds
- Previous experience in a healthcare role at Band 2 or experience of working in a sexual health clinic o
- Demonstrable experience in dealing with patient who are sick and distressed
- Knowledge of care and related procedures, clinical observations, limited clinical duties and relevant legislation

Job summary
Assist in providing confidential, holistic sexual and contraceptive health care and education to clients attending the service in a welcoming, sensitive and non-judgemental manner.
Under the direction of a registered nurse/nursing associate, work with all members of the multidisciplinary team to contribute to high standards of care delivery through provision of personal care and limited delegated clinical care duties.

Main duties of the job
To accurately and promptly carry out tasks delegated by the registered nurse/nursing associate who is professionally accountable for the delivery of care.
2. Under the direction of a registered nurse/nursing associate and following training and completion of any competency requirements provide a range of delegated clinical duties:
a. Physiological observation monitoring
b. Point of care testing; including but not exhaustive of pregnancy, urinalysis.
c. Venepuncture
d. Microscopy
e. Asymptomatic screening
f. Obtaining swabs and specimens
g. Record keeping,
