Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner to work with individuals experiencing complex emotional needs in Burton and Uttoxeter. The role involves providing assessment and intervention for adults 17+ within the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) and Intensive Life Skills (ILS) Pathway. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering evidence-based interventions and managing a caseload of service users. The position requires independent travel and strong ICT skills for remote interventions.
Essential criteria
- A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following in CMHN, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychological Therapy
- Post qualification experience, such as evidence of formal courses and training relevant to people with complex mental health needs related to emotional instability
Desirable criteria
- Qualification in psychological interventions such as DBT, SCM, CBT, EMDR, MBT, relevant to a client group with complex mental health needs
- Experience of working with a client group who present with difficulties relating to emotional dysregulation, high risk challenging and chaotic behaviour, highly complex needs relating to trauma
- Experience of working with people who have difficulty in engaging with services
- Experience of working with people engaging in high risk behaviours and self harm
- Experience of working within a structured therapeutic model individually and in group settings
- Experience of facilitating psycho-educational and/or skills based groups

Job summary
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner to work with individuals with complex emotional needs based in clinic or community venues within Burton and Uttoxeter.
You would be working within the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT) and the The Intensive Life Skills (ILS) Pathway to provide assessment and intervention for adults 17+ experiencing complex emotional difficulties as part of the Adult Mental Health Service. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide evidence based interventions.
You will support the service as either a highly skilled NMC Registered Nurse, HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist or Registered Social Worker working within highly psychologically minded, enthusiastic, dedicated and supportive teams to support service-users who present with high levels of emotional distress and often have histories of complex trauma, neurodiversity and/or adverse experiences.
You will need to travel independently over a large geographical area and will require suitable transport.
