Role summary
This role involves supporting carers, families, volunteers, and patients at Rampton Hospital, a high secure facility. The successful candidate will help improve the overall visitor experience and enhance patient care by acting as a link between patients, wards, and other departments. Key responsibilities include managing visitor accreditation, facilitating visits, and ensuring carers have appropriate support networks. The position aims to champion carer and patient involvement across the hospital.

- Demonstrate clear understanding of Safeguarding
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to undertake essential training, particularly Positive Management of Violence and Aggression
- Ability to walk and escort visitors around the high secure site
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent registered qualification in Health & Social Care or experience of working in a Health or Social Care setting
- A good standard of general education including GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
- Training
- Microsoft Office programs i.e. Database, Excel, Word, Powerpoint

- Carer awareness training
- Involvement, Experience or Participation training
- Experience of working with people with a mental health issue, or personality disorders
- Experience of working with patients/service users with a mental illness or personality disorder within a mental health care setting, e.g. community, hospital, prison, young offender institute or forensic unit
- Adult & Child Safeguarding
- Awareness of Carers rights and needs
- Confidentiality and data protection
- Knowledge of computer packages, e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint IT Skills
- Triangle of Care
- Knowledge of the principles underpinning diversity, equal opportunity, anti-oppressive practice & mental health
- Involvement, Experience and Participation ethos
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deal with and prepare routine verbal and written correspondence
- Ability to communicate accurately, verbally, courteously and effectively with a wide range of patients, carers and staff
- To develop and maintain high level communication and relationships with a range of different teams across the hospital
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Contractual Requirements
- Commitment to covering a 7-day a week service, requires significant weekend and bank holiday working
- Access to own car and insurance for business mileage/or willingness to drive the hospital pool car (reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.)

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Carer & Patient Experience Worker to join the Carer & Patient Experience Team at Rampton Hospital. Rampton is a national high secure hospital and is based in rural North Nottinghamshire. (if x2 persons apply and are successful at interview, there is the possibility of an x2 18:75 per week hour job share posts)
To support Carers, family and volunteers and patients in their engagement, participation and involvement towards patient care and the visiting the hospital. The role plays a central role in ensuring carers have appropriate network of support around them and their role in supporting the best health outcomes of the patients who we provide services and support too.
