Key responsibilities
- Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
- Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
- Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
- Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands.
- Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (Level 1 or 2)
- Knowledge of current issues in health care and Standards of Professional Practice
- Willing to undergo training as necessary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team on Lilac Ward , a busy 32-bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU) , on a 12-month fixed-term contract/secondment to cover maternity leave .
Lilac Ward provides care for patients presenting with a wide variety of acute medical conditions. As part of the acute patient pathway, we assess, treat and manage patients during the early stages of their hospital journey, making this an exciting and dynamic area in which to work.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse or a nurse seeking to broaden their acute care experience, working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team committed to delivering outstanding patient-centred care.
This post is open to qualified Registered Nurses with a full registration with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council and Pre-Registered Nurses due to qualify in 2026.
