Role summary
This role is for a Registered Dietitian to join the Adult Clinical Community team, focusing on delivering and developing the Nutrition Support Pathway. The successful candidate will conduct home visits, virtual, and face-to-face clinics for adult patients. It involves group education sessions, developing health education resources, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. This position is suitable for newly qualified or experienced dietitians looking to develop community healthcare skills.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver dietetic services within the Adult Clinical Community Team, including assessments, treatment, and ongoing management of community patients.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients, interpreting data to implement appropriate nutritional goals and interventions.
- Support the development and delivery of patient education sessions and contribute to development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide support, guidance, and training to dietetic assistants and be involved in the supervision of dietetic students.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records and manage your own caseload with prioritisation skills.
- Act as an autonomous practitioner, providing expert nutritional advice and ensuring professional and legal accountability for your work.
Essential criteria
- Degree qualification in Dietetics (or pending)
- Registered Dietitian with HCPC (or pending)
- Sound clinical knowledge of dietetic treatment of adult patients
- Broad, up to date, evidence based clinical knowledge
- Excellent communication skills based on fluency on the English language
- Strong organisational and time management skills. The ability to prioritise and manage own caseload
- Excellent team working skills
- Accepts responsibility and accountability for own work and can define the responsibilities of others
- Recognises the limits of own authority within the role. Seeks and uses professional support appropriately
- Ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and vulnerable adults
- Has a realistic knowledge of personal strengths and areas for development
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of on-going professional development
- Teaching skills with experience of delivering group presentations
