Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Assistant Management Accountant to join the Financial Management team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves gaining skills and experience in financial management while studying for the AAT qualification. You will use computerised ledger systems and Microsoft Office packages to provide analysis to department managers and budget holders. The position is based at Sunderland Royal Hospital with hybrid home working arrangements.
Essential criteria
- Experience of assisting in the production of income and/or expenditure annual budgets and monthly management reports.
- Experience of spreadsheet, database and computerised ledger applications.
Desirable criteria
- Finance experience.
- Oracle Financials experience.
- Skills & Knowledge
- Numerate and IT aware, with good keyboard skills.
- Able to undertake initial investigation and resolution of expenditure
- variances within area of responsibility.
- Able to analyse and manipulate large volumes of complex data into meaningful information and produce summaries for review by the Management Accountant.
- Able to plan own work to ensure monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines are met.
- Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with finance and non-finance staff.
- Flexibility to work within the Divisional team or across the teams as required.
- Reliable and committed to delivering targets and achieving outcomes.
- Knowledge of the NHS financial regime and relevant legislation and guidance.
- GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade C or above (4-9).
- Required to study and complete AAT qualification/ part AAT qualified.

An exciting
opportunity has arisen at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust
for an Assistant Management Account Apprentices to join our Financial
Management team. We are a driven and motivated team passionate about the
development of our finance team. We have professional accreditation with ACCA,
CIMA, CIPFA and AAT as well as holding level 3 Future Focused Finance
accreditation and offer support for further training and professional
development.

ambitious individual who is reliable and flexible and can contribute to the
