Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Perform clinical observations, report abnormalities, escalate concerns and document accurately.
- Follow appropriate infection prevention and control guidelines.
- Assist in the provision of clinics including phlebotomy, vaccinations, ECGs, physical investigation clinics and wound care.
- Participate in resident screenings with healthcare colleagues.
- Maintain accurate, timely and legible records of resident's care.
- Contribute to the ordering, distribution, stock control and maintenance of Healthcare equipment and resources.
Essential criteria
- The application includes evidence of the required years of UK residency to meet prison vetting standards
- GCSE Maths & English or qualified to equivalent Functional skills level 2 in Maths & English, or willingness to undertake.
- Care certificate or willingness to work towards
- Completion of a clinical skills competency- based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational qualification level 3, or willingness to undertake.
- Knowledge of clinical patient observations.
- Willingness to undertake competencies supported by clinical skills training and education to gain theoretical underpinning knowledge in a range of clinical interventions and use of test equipment e.g. blood glucose monitors, venepuncture etc.
- Care experience working in a health or social care setting.
- Care certificate

Job summary
- The post holder will work as part of the Healthcare team, providing care and support to patients within HMP Lincoln in accordance with security guidelines
- The post holder will work closely with other teams within the prison and with external agencies in meeting the holistic needs of the patients.
- The post holder will, at times, be able to work without direct supervision, undertaking delegated tasks and reporting back to the Registered Nurses.
- The post holder will actively participate in the on-going development of positive working relationships with prison staff
