Role summary
This role is for a Cardiac Specialist Nurse within the Heart Failure Service, focusing on patient-centred clinical care. You will assess, examine, diagnose, and treat inpatients and outpatients in heart failure clinics, optimising medication and arranging cardiology tests. The position supports an efficient, patient-focused service, ensuring safe referral and discharge. You will work across different sites within the Trust, potentially moving towards a 7-day service.

- Demonstrate expertise in the full range of clinical skills within cardiology.

- Demonstrates specialist knowledge in heart failure specific patient

- Capable of developing liaisons with other practice areas/academic situations

Job summary
We are recruiting for a Cardiac Specialist Nurse - Heart Failure Servicewho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a team of dynamic cardiac specialist nurses. You will have experience in cardiology with an interest in heart failure to ensure patient-centred clinical care. This will encompass the skills of assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice within Cardiology, focussing mainly on the assessment and treatment of inpatients and in the heart failure clinics to ensure optimisation of medication and arrange appropriate cardiology tests and follow up.
In this role you will support a new way of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient focused service, and will ensure the safe referral and discharge of patients. The cardiology department compromises of 2 Cath Labs and a radial lounge. We do a variety of procedures such as coronary angiography, PCIs, providing 24/7 PPCI cover, pacemakers, cardioversions, stress echocardiograms, trans-oesophageal echo's and complex imaging. There is a 22 bedded acute cardiac unit.
