Role summary
This role supports the Emergency Department Nurse and Consultant in Charge to ensure the safe and timely flow of patients. - SKILLS AND ABILITY

- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to remain calm when the department is experiencing extreme pressures.

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Emergency Department team as a Patient Flow Assistant.
The role supports the Nurse and Consultant in Charge with the safe and timely flow of patients through the department.
This is a full time position and the team cover a 24/7 period so please ensure you are able to work a variety of shifts before applying.

Main duties of the job
Working in support of and under the direction of the Emergency Department Nurse in Charge, they will assist in the monitoring and management of patient flow through the department. The post holder will be responsible for timely and effective management of departmental administrative duties.
Main Duties:
- Ensure that there are up to date plans for all patients > 2 hours.
- Ensure that clerking is up to date in real time.
- Cross reference all patients in the Emergency Department to ensure that all referred patients are on the tracker.
- Accurately input the Bed Booked times.
- Ensure referral times to specialties and specialty outcomes are recorded accurately.
- Ensure coding is completed by a clinician prior
