Role summary

This role supports research projects and postgraduate education within the Pulvertaft Hand Centre at Royal Derby Hospital. The administrator will liaise with research patients, ensure protocols are followed, record data, and work with trial monitors. Additionally, the role involves organising national courses for health professionals, including venue bookings, speaker liaison, and managing online meetings. Strong IT skills, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential for this position.

Essential criteria

  • A good standard of English to O level/GCSE or equivalent RSA/OCR level III or equivalent knowledge and skills. Ability to demonstrate both excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced level of IT literacy with experience of using a range of IT applications, in particular Excel and online meeting software.
  • Previous experience working in a busy/demanding administrative role.
  • Provide up to date reports for management team. Take department meeting minutes, transcribe and distribute locally.

  • To communicate routine information with members of the team, patients and carers. Communicate both verbally and written using persuasive, negotiation and tact.
