Role summary

The West Hertfordshire Community Respiratory Service is seeking a Band 7 Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist to join their multidisciplinary team. This role involves delivering patient-centred care to individuals with various respiratory conditions, including pulmonary rehabilitation, hospital at home services, and oxygen therapy clinics. The post holder will work autonomously, conducting comprehensive assessments and developing individualised treatment plans. They will also contribute to service development, quality improvement, and the supervision of junior staff.

Essential criteria

  • HCPC Registion
  • Post registration respiratory qualification or equivalent experience
  • Teaching/Mentorship qualification or equivalent experience
  • Possession of a degree or equivalent
  • Experience of working with respiratory patients including bronchiectasis, asthma, COPD and ILD
  • Experience of running pulmonary rehabilitation programme.
  • Experience of management of breathlessness and anxiety.
  • Experience of managing patient requiring chest clearance techniques
  • Experience of working within a community setting.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop new initiatives
  • Demonstrates ability to managing change
  • Skills and Knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to motivate self and others
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritise actions
  • Ability to be proactive and resourceful
  • A working knowledge of clinical governance and evidence based practice
  • Ability to develop and maintain team working
  • Ability to demonstrate specialist clinical expertise, including physical assessment, spirometry, developing self-management action plans
  • Ability to undertake ambulatory oxygen assessments
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Sound working knowledge of guidelines in the field of respiratory care
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the holistic needs of the client group
  • Computer skills i.e. Word, data- bases email, internet

Job summary

West Hertfordshire Community Respiratory Service, provided by CLCH, is seeking a Band 7 Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team on a 12 months fixed term contract.

You will work as part of a community respiratory service operating 5 days per week across West Hertfordshire, supporting people with COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis and interstitial lung disease.

The role involves delivering patient-centred, integrated care through a range of specialist services, which could include:

o RCP-accredited pulmonary rehabilitation programmeso Hospital at Home admission avoidance / virtual ward serviceso Airways and dysfunctional breathing clinicso Oxygen therapy clinicso Airway clearance interventionso Advice line support and service triage
