Role summary

This role is for an enthusiastic Deputy Ward Manager to join the team on G1 Ward, a 16-bedded inpatient dementia ward. You will support the Ward Manager and multi-disciplinary team in delivering high-quality, safe, and person-centred care. The position involves taking a lead role in establishing, monitoring, and auditing nursing clinical practice standards. Flexibility for 24-hour service, including day/night shifts and weekends, is required.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Nurse qualification appropriate to the post
  • Evidence of Current Registration of NMC
  • Demonstration of ongoing professional development
  • Basic IT Knowledge

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in implementation of evidence based changes in clinical practice
  • Education to Diploma/Degree level in relevant subjec
  • Ability to respond to the individual rights/needs/opinions of service users.
  • Knowledge of effective planning/implementation/ evaluation of individual plans of care
  • Ability to maintain a safe environment for residents/carers and staff
  • Ability to act as an education resource for the team
  • Experience of practicing clinical supervision
  • Experience in training plans and standard setting
  • Experience in supervision of junior staf
  • Demonstrate good current knowledge of clinical care within the client group
  • Minimum of 2 experience at Band 5 or above

Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic nurses to join team SHPU, to take an active role in the day to day delivery of patient care. You will be supported by our fantastic senior nurse leaders and the wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality and safe care to our patients. You will be keen to contribute to service improvement, working as part of the team to continuous improve our delivery of person-centred, therapeutic care.

Main duties of the job

G1 Ward is a 16 bedded inpatient dementia ward based in Sheffield. As Deputy Ward Manager you will be expected to take a lead role, in support of the Ward Manager and MD Team in the establishing, setting, monitoring, evaluating and auditing of standards of nursing clinical practice on the Ward.

We are a 24-hour service and require a high degree of flexibility regarding rotation between day and night shifts, including weekends
