Role summary
This role involves providing high-quality patient care as a Nursing Support Worker within a multidisciplinary team. You will assist patients with personal and clinical care under professional guidance, maintain a clean environment, and monitor patient progress. The position requires adherence to HEIW guidelines and the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales. It is based at Prince Charles Hospital Trauma Unit.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and prioritise own delegated workload, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently, safely and effectively.
- Work within established procedures when delivering care and under the supervision of a registered healthcare professional.
- Undertake care as directed by the registered health-care professional, following agreed care plans.
- Obtain informed consent prior to providing care, understanding actions required if care is declined.
- Undertake high standards of infection prevention control in the healthcare setting.
- Provide personal care to patients/clients, including washing, dressing, and assisting with mobility aids.
Essential criteria
- Ability to demonstrate a caring and compassionate approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working in a hospital setting
- Level 3 qualification in health care or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting
Desirable criteria
- Welsh Language Speaking & Listening Skills (Level 3 and above/B2)
- Experience working in a trauma unit
