Role summary
Central London Community Health Care Trust is seeking a passionate and committed Clinical Support Worker to join their 0-19 teams in Merton. This role involves providing clinical support to the school health team and contributing to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme. The successful candidate will help improve health and life chances for children and families, including safeguarding those at risk. This is a fixed-term, term-time only position.
Essential criteria
- GCSEs Grade A-C in Maths and English or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or NVQ Level 3 Care Certificate or equivalent experience or Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register
- Educated to a minimum level 5 Foundation degree level specific to nursing associate practice
Desirable criteria
- Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education Qualification
- Willingness to undertake Apprentice Nursing Associate
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook ) with experience of inputting to databases, spreadsheets and/or other IT systems and business applications used in the office environment
- Experience of working in a public facing role
- Previous experience of working within a health/school/care setting in the field of area applied for
- Experience of working in a customer service role
- Relevant experience of working self-directed or as part of a team.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience of working in a school environment
- Skills and Knowledge
- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development
- Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within the Code.
- Relevant clinical skills in the area of work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, non- verbal communication) with patients/relatives, carers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers and colleagues.
- Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact
