Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join an innovative Multidisciplinary service. The role focuses on reducing inequalities and improving outcomes for 0-5 year olds in deprived areas of Enfield. The postholder will develop and provide universal and targeted support for children at risk of speech, language, and communication needs, working within a multi-agency team. Key duties include delivering early intervention models, offering training and supervision, and designing intervention groups for parents/carers. The role also involves strengthening partnerships and establishing clear referral pathways.
Essential criteria
- Highly specialist knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent qualifications, further theoretical training and experience to Master's level equivalent in required speciality
- Continued Professional Development evidenced by attendance at short specialist postgraduate courses to maintain and develop own specialist knowledge and expertise.
- Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent (Post Graduate Diploma or MSc in Speech & Language Therapy leading to registration with HCPC)
- HCPC Licence to Practice
- Registered member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
- Experience of developing service initiatives, particularly in universal services.
- Experience of working with different professional disciplines and agencies
- Experience of clinical supervision / mentoring to a wide range of staff .
- Evidence of delivering training to a wide range of audiences
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels across organisations and with a range of audiences.
- Ability to establish positive relationships and mutual respect with people at all levels
- Effective problem solving skills and ability to recognise conflict and generate solutions when dealing with complex and sensitive issues
- Knowledge of NHS, Education and Early Years national policy and directives where these impact on area of specialism or service delivery
- Knowledge of barriers to understanding & ability to explain complex issues simply
- Knowledge of current safeguarding procedures.

Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to be part of an innovative Multidisciplinary service aimed at reducing inequalities in one of the most deprived areas of Enfield. The service is focused on improving outcomes for 0-5 year olds' from identified high risk groups such as deprived areas.
The postholder will work within a multi-agency team with a range of health, early years, social care and voluntary sector professionals.
The postholder will have a role in the development, planning and provision of universal and targeted support strands for children at risk of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and their parents as well as the wider community support network.
Main duties of the job
To continue to develop and extend the reach of universal services, delivering a model of early intervention and prevention to children and families from birth to 5 years from deprived backgrounds.
o offer training, supervision and support to health visitors, early years practitioners, nursery staff and parent champion volunteers working on the project.
To design and run intervention groups for parents/carers of children with identified as 'at risk' of early language delay.
