Role summary

This role is for an experienced and motivated Critical Care Outreach Nurse to join a 24/7 service. You will support the early recognition and management of acutely unwell ward-based patients, working autonomously to assess and intervene. The position involves providing expert clinical advice, leadership, and support across the hospital. You will also educate and empower colleagues in recognizing and responding to deteriorating patients, aiming to improve patient safety and outcomes.

  • ALS qualification or willingness to complete
  • ENB 100 / equivalent
  • Advanced level of critical /acute care knowledge
  • Experience of implementing change Commitment to continuing professional development

Job summary

Are you an experienced, motivated nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional care to deteriorating patients? We are looking for a confident and dynamic Critical Care Outreach Nurse to join our team and make a real difference across the hospital.

This is an exciting opportunity to use your critical care expertise beyond the ICU, supporting the early recognition and management of acutely unwell ward-based patients. You will work with a high degree of autonomy, assessing patients, initiating timely interventions and supporting the multidisciplinary team to prevent deterioration and improve outcomes.

You will be at the heart of our 24/7 Critical Care Outreach Service, providing expert clinical advice, leadership and support across the hospital. Every day will bring new challenges, opportunities to develop your practice and the chance to influence patient care at a critical moment.

Alongside your clinical role, you will inspire and empower colleagues through education, training, coaching and bedside support, helping to build confidence in recognising and responding to the deteriorating patient.
