Role summary
This role is for a compassionate and motivated Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse to join Sandpiper Ward at Hellesdon Hospital. Sandpiper is a 16-bed acute adult inpatient ward for men experiencing functional mental illness. You will provide safe, effective, and person-centred care, developing therapeutic relationships and supporting recovery goals. The role involves collaborative work with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team, focusing on high-quality care and positive patient outcomes. The Trust offers comprehensive induction, supervision, training, and professional development.
Essential criteria
- Nursing degree or equivalent RN(MH)
- Good observation and reporting skills
- Ability to motivate others
- Ability to supervise others
- Understanding of issues surrounding confidentiality
- Awareness of security and its impact and willingness to expand knowledge on it.
- Working knowledge /application of the Mental Health Act 1983
- Other
- Flexibility of duty and hours over a 24hr 7 day a week period
- Ability to travel independently
- Previous experience working with people with mental health needs
