Role summary
This is an exciting full-time opportunity for a dynamic, committed, compassionate, and enthusiastic Staff Nurse to join the team on Ward 8b, a 28-bedded mixed ward specializing in palliative care, haematology (non-oncology), and general medicine. The role involves internal rotation with various shifts. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating nursing care as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with training and an excellent preceptorship programme provided to support your development.
Essential criteria
- Sound clinical nursing knowledge and a good understanding of nursing issues and clinical governance
- Demonstrates awareness of own limitations
- Registered Nurse, current NMC registration
- BSc in Nursing (Diploma in Nursing as a minimum
Desirable criteria
- Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor Training
- Post registration qualification in relevant specialty
- Recent clinical nursing experience as a student or as a registered nurse
- Experience within relevant clinical setting
- Evidence of maintaining a clinical learning environment
- Evidence of working with learners
- Ability to organise workload and delegate tasks appropriately
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to support less experienced staff
- Ability to problem solve
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic IT skills, including e-mail and word processing

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen on ward 8b Medical Directorate at Liverpool University Hospital (New Royal site) for a dynamic, committed, compassionate and highly enthusiastic staff nurse to join a hardworking and close knit team.
The post is for a full time position to work 37.5 hours per week on internal rotation. Shifts consist of long days, early shifts/late shifts and night shifts.Ward 8b is a 28 bedded mixed ward with three specialities palliative care ,haematology ( non oncology) and general medicine. Training will be provided .
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team caring for patient and undertaking delegated tasks from the ward manager/ward sister with the opportunity to improve and expand on your clinical knowledge.
