Role summary
This part-time Band 3 Clinical Support Worker role is based in the Neurology Service at the CDC, with flexibility to cover other service needs. The post holder will assist with nursing care under indirect supervision, providing information and assistance to patients and their families. The role requires travel to Carlisle when needed and a commitment to learning and professional conduct.
Essential criteria
- oLevel 3 vocational qualification OR Short courses and completion of competency workbook equivalent to Level 3 in a range of patient and clinical care duties OR Equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of clinical care duties equivalent to Level 3;
- oTheoretical knowledge
- oExperience of a range of care and related procedures
- oClinical observations
- oknowledge of data protection legislation and health and safety at work legislation
- oNational Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment
- oNumeracy and Literacy Level 2

- Undertake relevant additional training for Clinical Support Workers

Job summary
Band 3 Clinical Support Worker - part time - 22.5 hours per week
The band 3 will cover the Neurology Service at the CDC
The post holder will be flexible across CDC/CIC to cover service need.
You will work with indirect supervision under the Registered Nurse; assisting with nursing care and providing information and assistance to the patient, their relatives and carers. You will also utilise acquired skills gained from an extended role as directed by the lead clinical nurse of the department.
Applicants will possess GCSE English & Maths or equivalent; National Care Certificate or commitment to complete as part of induction process, and an NVQ 3 in care (willingness to complete within one year of start date) or equivalent experience. You will also have experience of working in a customer focused / caring environment.
