Role summary

This role is for a highly specialised Neonatal/Neurodevelopmental Physiotherapist to join a dedicated AHP team within Leeds Teaching Hospitals. The post holder will provide expert care to babies and children with neurological developmental delay from preterm to 2 years, working across neonatal units, clinics, and outpatient settings. Key responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialised care to support the management of babies and children with neurological development delay from preterm to 2 years.
  • Work closely with Neonatal Multidisciplinary teams to provide assessment and treatment of patients on the Neonatal unit, clinics, Nursery, Home, and outpatients.
  • Provide leadership within the children's Physiotherapy teams, demonstrating high standards of leadership skills and behaviours.
  • Support inpatient therapists and outpatient services for patient management and liaise with other hospitals and community services.
  • Act as the link person for families in this service.
  • Contribute to the paediatric out of hours service at the Leeds Children's Hospital.

We are a dedicated and cohesive neonatal AHP team delivering highquality, evidencebased developmental care for babies and their families. Recent investment offers an exciting opportunity to expand our workforce and strengthen AHP provision within neonatal services across St James's University Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. As we progress through a period of transformation, we are enhancing developmental pathways, improving outcomes and embedding collaborative, familycentred practice. This is an exciting time to join our fantastic team and be part of meaningful service improvement.

This post will offer hours up to full time, accepting a minimum of three days covering Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the children's physiotherapy team, providing highly specialised care to support the management of babies and children with neurological development delay from preterm to 2 years.

The post holder will work closely with the Neonatal Multidisciplinary teams to provide assessment and treatment of patients on the Neonatal unit, clinics Nursery and Home and outpatients.

They will provide leadership within the childrens Physiotherapy teams demonstrating a high standard of leadership skills
