Role summary

This role provides high-standard, efficient, and comprehensive administrative support to clinical teams within the Respiratory Medicine Service. Key responsibilities

  • Provide primary administrative support to clinical staff and patients, including diary administration and correspondence.
  • Act as a first point of contact for patients, relatives, GPs, and other agencies via telephone and email.
  • Use Trust digital transcription systems to produce high-quality clinical correspondence.
  • Open and prioritise incoming post, ensuring urgent items are actioned and escalated when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and current filing systems and electronic databases, including EPR.
  • Work with the administrative team and clinical staff to ensure patients are admitted within access targets and assist with managing patient tracking lists.

Essential criteria

  • 5 GCSEs
  • NHS Experience
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • IT Literate, including use of EPR
  • Experience of working in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work under time sensitive pressures

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working with the public in a professional setting, both face-to-face and on the telephone.
  • Awareness of Trust values and demonstrates behaviours aligned to these.
  • Knowledge of NHS cancer pathways

Job summary

The purpose of this role is to provide high standard, efficient and comprehensive support to clinical teams within the Respiratory Medicine Service. Main duties of the job

  • Provide primary administrative support to all clinical staff, primarily consultants, and all patients under their care, including diary administration, correspondence support and other administrative duties as required.
