Role summary
Join our inpatient mental health team at Parklands Hospital as a Specialist Dietitian, supporting service users with complex mental and physical health needs. You will undertake nutritional assessments, develop person-centred treatment plans, and manage a specialist caseload. This role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contributing to service development. It's a part-time position for 22.5 hours per week, focusing on recovery-focused care.
Essential criteria
- Degree/post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics
- HCPC Registration.
Desirable criteria
- Advance Diploma of Dietetics
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development portfolio
- Comprehensive post registration experience including evidence of experience in catering, providing training for staff/carer and running group sessions with service users.
- Experience of working with eating disorder cases either in a community setting or in-patient
- Experience of providing supervision to other colleagues/professionals
- Experience of working with mental health and learning disability within a clinical settings
- Formal training in communication skills e.g.
- Talking Mats, Motivational Interviewing or
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Additional Criteria

- Reflective Practice
- Ability to analyse professional and ethical issues
- Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
- Ability to organise and respond efficiently to complex information
- Computer literacy
- Ability to build effective working relationships

- Ability to work creatively with patients to support engagement
- Ability to build constructive relationships with warmth and empathy demonstrating positive communication skills
