Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Pelvic Health team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role involves providing specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients with complex presentations within the Perinatal Pelvic Health Service (PPHS). You will work autonomously to deliver evidence-based care, contribute to early intervention and prevention programmes, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings. The position also includes responsibilities for clinical supervision and service development.
Essential criteria
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Clinical Educators Certificate
- Postgrad accredited study e.g. MSc in relevant health studies
- Advanced clinical knowledge relevant to the current environment and evidence of evidence-based practise in relevant health setting.
- Awareness of own strengths and limitations.
- Knowledge of relevant national policies and guidance and relevant assessment tools
- Experience of line managing team including setting objectives, conducting appraisals and effective delegation and coordination
- Evidence of effective working within an MDT
- Experience of service development
- Demonstrate experience of problem-solving approaches
- Demonstrates continuous professional development
- Audit and research in a clinical area
- Demonstrates ability to motivate team performance to achieve objectives
- Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings
- Accurate record keeping, report writing and IT skills including presentation skills
- Have a flexible approach to working with good time management

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist in Pelvic Health.
PPHS was introduced as part of the NHS Long Term Plan and Maternity Transformation Programme, with a national requirement for every Local Maternity System (LMS) to create a Perinatal Pelvic Health Service.

Main duties of the job

Providespecialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment to a designated caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning.

Manage patients with complex presentations , adjusting and developing treatment programmes accordingly.

Work autonomously to deliver evidence-based physiotherapy within PPHS pathways (e.g., MSK, community rehab, rapid response, long-term condition management).

Contribute to early intervention, prevention, and self-management programmes in line with PPHS goals.

Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, case conferences and joint clinics to ensure coordinated care.

Maintain high standards of documentation in line with HCPC and local policies
