Role summary

Key responsibilities
- To take a lead role in managing the waiting list of a group of consultants, including cross-covering other specialities.
- Monitor waiting lists and work lists daily to ensure Government Access Targets are not breached.
- To co-ordinate admission and associated pre-operative assessment clinics.
- To act as a named contact point, liaising with patients, relatives, and medical representatives.
- To deal with enquiries from all service users in a helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner.
- To ensure that patient confidentiality is always maintained.

Waiting List Officer - Elective Booking & Scheduling Team - Band 4 - Full Time & Part Time Position Available
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Elective Booking & Scheduling Team based at Stepping Hill Hospital. As a member of the team, you will assist with managing waiting lists for elective surgery and working in accordance with Government Access targets to ensure patients are treated in line with Trust Access policies.
This post is varied and includes contact with patients and many Health Care Professionals.
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an environment where demands and priorities change quickly.
We are looking for someone educated to a minimum of GCSE standard or with equivalent relevant experience, with experience working in a patient/customer focused environment. An awareness of Government Access targets would be desirable. You must be well organised, able to work on your own initiative and demonstrate confidence in independent decision making.
